Having two years of complications in a row at the Veterans Park, MQC decided to hold the 8th City Hall Poser Game Championship in the Jeanne–Mance projects. The game was organized a little late in 2007 with only a week notice, which resulted in fewer participants than usual. Big James, as always, did a great job at hosting the night.
There weren’t any confrontations that year; in fact, there was tight security. They allowed us to hold the game, but the guards wouldn’t let people drink or get faded. There wasn’t a free keg of beer that year either, instead MQC got a free hook up on some free vodka and energy drinks which worked out well to hide the booze. It wasn’t as refreshing as beer, but the contestants were boosted nonetheless.
Also, something special happened that year: Phil Knechtel won his second trophy, making him the second skater to bring home the trophy; not only twice, but two consecutive wins.
